"It is our belief that in order to change the story of Ugandan schools, a good place to start is with the next generation of teachers."

Many of the next generation of teachers in Northern Uganda pass through two Primary Teachers Colleges, Gulu Core PTC, and Christ the King PTC. We have established teacher training courses in literacy instruction at both colleges. Pre-service teachers who participate in this course are trained extensively in the five big ideas of literacy (phonemic awareness, alphabetic principle, vocabulary, fluency and comprehension), the Fun of Phonics curriculum, as well as classroom management and organization.
